En route to Dubuque, we stopped by the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa – the site of Buddy, Ritchie Valens’, and the Big Bopper’s last performance on the ‘Winter Dance Party Tour’ in February, 1959. This iconic venue is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. An amazing place to visit!
