BILL ZAUNER

Bill Zauner is from Buddy Holly’s hometown Lubbock, Texas. He has played the role of Joe B. Mauldin in four productions of the show, and is also proficient on the ‘4th Cricket’ part of Tommy Allsup.

Bill has nine years experience as a professional musician and actor, and is proficient at reading music and charts on electric and upright bass, acoustic guitar, rhythm electric guitar, piano, banjo, mandolin, and vocals. He studied music at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. His primary instrument was the upright bass. He has performed the role of Joe B. in two productions of Buddy in Lubbock (summer 2009 and summer 2010), once in a Lubbock-based tour (Fall 2010), and once in a record-breaking run at Highlands Playhouse, North Carolina (summer 2013).



He is a successful performing musician, having performed primarily as a bassist throughout most of Texas in a variety of genres from jukebox musicals to classical symphonies and rock & roll bands. Growing up in Lubbock, a genuine passion and pride for Holly’s music has been instilled in him since an early age. Bill is honored every time he gets a chance to perform in Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story.
